Additional information
on using Transparency effect - or ways I have used it to create a simple
look of vellum or transparency
**You can perhaps use
the transparency effect to create a
translucent look for
some of your graphics. I have seen
the use of that effect
to use a background over another to
produce a look of Vellum,
or Faded backgrounds overlays.
Bring backgrounds to worktray
that you want to work with.
or
create squares and/or
shapes and use fill effect to fill
with color or texture
or pictures, etc. to then layer upon
other backgrounds and
use transparency effect upon the layers.
From the Effects menu
choose the Transparency Effect
then choose either -
Even, Gradual or Transparency
Brush
Have fun, experiment,
add text on different
layers, use different
fonts, add shadows to
text, etc.
Final image -
I took 3 backgrounds and
applied various effects of transparency
on the top two, to produce
one new background graphic

Sometimes I am asked
- Where is a listing of all of your tutorials?
I don't really have them
all organized in a one stop location - they are scattered across the net,
on my own websites (I own 6 domains) and I also post alot of information
and/or screen shots in online forums threads, such as at pcCrafter or DAISIE
Company
Here is just a bit of
info I posted in one thread at pcCrafter

thread that I posted on

My response to questions
about tutorials and Digital Image or other Editing programs for digital
crafters
What I do with any software
program is approach it as a "novice" and try not to be apprehensive about
trying all the buttons and effects, etc. I just play around with it. Plus
remember, I am not a "Crafter" like so many are here. I don't make lots
of stuff and print it out, assemble it and or keep it or give it away.
I have made things like Jiffy Popcorn circle covers, because that entails
just making a circle and putting graphics on it, and they do make cute
last minute gifts, etc. And I have made cards, little candy tents or teabag
envelopes, or make Signs. When I worked in the Hospital Medical Library
(I'm retired) I was the signage queen, mainly because of the massive "graphic
collection" I have, I could be fairly creative with the signs.
Digital Image Pro has
certain functions that I haven't even discovered yet or had a need to discover
them. The users manual has come in handy for a few things, so I keep it
right on my desk, (next to my Paintshop Pro 8 users guide too)
I also print out any all
tutorials I find online about a particular program and have them right
in front of me, when trying to attain a certain effect. And I'll check
off the steps as I go, and make notes, if something doesn't quite work,
or if I find a shortcut or do it differently and it works out OK in the
end.
When I accomplish something
that I may have seen someone on the board here - who was having a problem
with or wanted to know how to do..I would go through the steps myself and
make screen shots of How I Did It, and share the info and screen shots
in a forum posting.
If I thought something
I was able to do in a program, was worthy of sharing with lots of folks,
I would take screen shots and create a mini-pictorial of how I do it and
make a webpage out of it.
Soooo, here are some links
of webpages I've made and links to some of my forum postings - **note some
of these may be outdated, as I continue to learn new things and utilize
different tools and/or plugins in Digital Image.
